Parsnip and Cereriac Puree

Parsnip & Celeriac Puree — powered by ehow

The days and evenings are still warm, but soon enough we will be sliding the sweaters on and craving soups and fall vegetable.

I am here to prepare you! There is much to be said for preparation. For one – it feels good and lowers your stress level and that is a very good thing!

I love root vegetables. Especially parsnips and celeriac.

The remarkable flavor of parsnips is not the only thing going for this carrot lookalike.   Parsnips benefit the pancreas, intestines and stomach, help clear liver and gall bladder obstructions, and is mildly diuretic. Parsnips are also rich in silicon dioxide which helps minimize damaging effects of aluminum and prevents Alzheimer’s disease, according to nutritionist Phyllis Balch, author of the book “Prescription for Nutritional Healing.”
Silicone also promotes firmness and strength to the arteries, tendons, skin, connective tissue and eyes. Think taught skin…..

Knobby and slightly unattractive celeriac (celery root), is nutty, sweet and packed with delicate celery-like flavor. It is rich in vitamin-K which helps increase bone mass by promoting osteotrophic activity.

Combined, parsnips and celeriac are a perfect tango. Especially if you want good brain function, beautiful skin and super-strong bones!
