Personal Training/Partner Training/Group Training

Every fitness program should BEGIN with strength training, not cardio. Muscle is the most metabolically active tissue in our body. The biggest reason that most people suffer from sluggish metabolism is due to loss of muscle. Consider this: We all lose one half to seven-tenths of a pound of muscle per year, after age 20. As women get closer to menopause, this rate doubles, and after age 70, almost all people lose 3 pounds of muscle per year!

By strength training we actually minimize wear and tear and take some of the pressure off our joints because we make the supporting muscles, tendons and ligaments stronger. We also increase our bone density, a definite benefit in preventing osteoporosis. While walking and running help spinal density, a good balanced strength training program helps all of our bones and their surrounding tissues.

To counteract the effect of aging, focus on functional movement, such as bending, pulling, pushing, squatting and twisting. Work the entire back side of the body to prevent poor posture and make sure you hit momentary muscle failure (not being able to perform another rep). The more you can safely lift, the more you help your muscles, joints and your bones.

Maximize your time and your rate of progression, learn proper exercise technique and get motivated! I’ll create a program specific to your needs and goals and help you stay focused and on track.
